23 years after the original Chicken Run took the nation by storm, Ginger, Rocky, Babs, Bunty, Mac and Fowler are back and this time they’re joined by Ginger and Rocky’s chick - Molly!

As Molly grows up through a charming montage, she develops an sense of adventure and (as all teenage daughters dream of) runs away from home explore the big wild world.

When Ginger and Rocky wake to see that Molly is gone, they set off with their band of misfits in tow to find her and bring her home.

Whilst on her travels, Molly bumps into Frizzle and together they travel to an exciting new place where they believe they have found a chickens paradise.

It isn’t until they realise how fake the happiness of their fellow chickens is that they understand this place is not what it seems.

The cast of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is as wonderfully fitted to the roles as the cast is in the original. A number of the original cast have returned, including Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Jane Horrocks. And the new additions include Thandiwe Newton as Ginger, Zachary Levi as Rocky, Bella Ramsey as Molly and Josie Sedgwick-Davies as Frizzle bring new energy and desired wholesomeness to the film.

The beauty of the visuals from the original film are not lost in the long awaited sequel. If Aardman Studios know how to do anything, it’s the magic and originality of stop motion animation. The hours of work and passion that goes into their work is seen throughout the visual beauty of their storytelling from the simplistic design of characters to the bright colour pallet, they do not miss. The British heart is sewn into the seams of everything they do and that does not waver in this film.

The screenplay, written by Karen Kirkpatrick, John O’Farrell and Rachel Tunnard, is jam packed with new comedic moments that will have audience members of all ages howling with laughter, whilst reviving beloved jokes from the original film.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, is an instant classic and will be loved as much as the original. In the same way Shawn the Sheep: Farmageddon enhanced the first Shaun film, Dawn of the Nugget adds more heart, more humour and more feathers!
